Strange Squash from Outer Space – Piebird’s Heirloom Seeds

$4.00

They landed here on Earth like some fledgling UFO. We think they come from the constellation Buttercup or maybe Burgess. This is our favourite squash here at Piebird because the vines climb great and the sweet fruits keep well.

Product Description

Piebird’s Strange Squash from Outer Space. Open Pollinated.

In outer space, many forms of craziness are allowed. The lack of gravity creates weirdness. Maybe they’ve been mutated by solar radiation, maybe they are Apostles of Otherness — find out for yourself, unleash these seeds into your garden.

Good climbers, will climb up back to outer space. Stores very well.

Planting Instructions:

Direct sow after last Spring frost, squash like warm soil. Plant 1/2 to 1 inch deep into hills. Sow 4 to 5 seeds per hill. Space hills about 4 to 8 feet apart. When the plants are 2 to 3 inches tall, thin to 2 to 3 plants per hill. Mulching plants helps retain moisture and suppress weeds.

Traditional heirloom name: “Burges Buttercup”
